Improving the quality of education is something that must be done immediately. One strategy to improve quality is to change mindsets and open students' horizons to knowledge that is developing in developed countries.
Aquaculture Outbound Student Exchange (AOSe) is one of the Department of Fisheries' Aquaculture Study Program activities which involves students in carrying out activities at universities in various developed countries in the field of fisheries. Aose's activities began in 2017 and visited several universities in Japan, Malaysia and Thailand. At the beginning, the activities only carried out lab visits and other research activities, then they were upgraded to research collaborations and public lectures.
This year's AOSe#Japan activity was attended by 8 students and lecturers from the BDP S1 Study Program, the Fisheries Science Masters Study Program and the Marine and Coastal Aquaculture Vocational Study Program. Activities for 8 days in Japan were carried out at the Fish Culture Laboratory, Department of Marinebioscience, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, under the guidance of Prof. Masato Endo.
